Last month we met very sweet and lovely couple, Megan and John, from tiny city Lemmon, SD. They’ve been knowing each other for their entire lives and started dating 11 years ago in high school, back in 2003.

During creating a blog posts I like to ask my couples a few questions to find out more details about their wedding and to get to know them better, so I asked Megan how did the proposal happen and she shared a little story of their love with me :).  Here it is:

“We took a road trip from Albuquerque, NM to Los Angeles, CA that spanned over a week’s time. We were living in Santa Fe, NM at the time. I am a whale lover and John had planned to propose during a whale watching excursion in Dana Point, CA but while we were on the tour, we didn’t see a single whale! He ended up proposing later that day with an antique, 1920’s emerald engagement ring on a grassy hill in Dana Point overlooking the ocean. Very romantic. :)”

For the wedding day they envisioned a small, intimate beach wedding, overlooking the water with very minimal decorations to capture the natural beauty of the location. Key West and Smathers beach was a perfect place for that! Please enjoy just a few of our favorites below:
